Streamlined site for Front Communications

THE BRIEF:

With decades of experience and a healthy network to draw on, Front Communications isn’t relying on its website to find new clients. Instead its online presence exists as a referral point for clients.

Trelliz Creative was approached to create a straightforward, streamlined design that includes all the relevant details - and flexibility to scale up in the future.

THE FEATURES:

Split Screen Design

Initially this website design relied on custom code to create a split screen background, that separated the feature images from the text, but thanks to Squarespace’s Fluid Engine recreating this look has become much, much simpler.

Subtle Colour Change Headline

Recent website design trends have started to borrow from the 1990s, in particular using movement to capture and hold attention. While I’m happy to leave the more garish design elements in my childhood, I couldn’t resist adding a subtle colour change feature to the tagline “Communication is always changing” on the Front Communications home page. This custom code update is combined with the built in text highlights to make a point to visitors.

Blog for sharing insights

Incorporating a blog into your website design is a great way to share further insights, answer frequently asked questions or position yourself as a subject matter expert. It can also be a useful way to optimise your site for search engines and help you be discovered by new clients.

Website owners are often encouraged to pump out regular blog posts to feed the beast. In 2023, this is unnecessary. Instead of focusing on frequency or volume, take a considered approach and offer content that is valuable to your target audience.

Streamlined site map

Sometimes its what’s not there that counts. It can be easy to look at other websites when sketching out your sitemap and deciding you need lots of separate pages. But the question you need to answer is, what value do these pages provide my target audience? Will they read them and will they care?

Front Communications opted to launch its website without a Services Page or team profiles, a mission statement or case studies - and that’s totally acceptable and even encouraged.

Websites are flexible and more details can be added later - if they add value and are truly required.
