The quiz that will help define your brand

There’s a recurring theme that pops up time and time again on designer social media.

Whether the memes recruit Noah and Allie from The Notebook, or laugh in the face of the threat of AI taking our jobs - the message is clear; the biggest challenge for designers is getting a clear brief from clients.

Yeah, I laughed. But I also get it.

I understand just how hard it is to describe what you want, when your day to day business has nothing to do with design hierarchy, hex codes, or having a position on sans or serif fonts. It’s even trickier to put vague visual concepts into words and ensure both client and designer are on the same page.

To help my clients gain clarity and make it easier for them to explain the colours, fonts and design elements they want to incorporate into their website design, I’ve put together a quick quiz.

The Define Your Brand Quiz walks you through a series of questions to provide your preferences for the look and feel of your website. It’s designed to be quick and as easy as possible.

Of course, this quiz does not replace a brand strategist, or a designer who specialises in branding and logo development. But the truth is, the majority of small businesses don’t need an expensive, extensive branding package when they are just trying to get their website online.

It’s also important to note this quiz won’t give you a complete brand outline. But it should give you - and your designer - a clear place to start to create what you want.
